Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, where you will be received for your journey to Shillong, Meghalaya, popularly known as the Scotland of the East.

Drive through the scenic hills of Meghalaya and stop en route at Umiam Lake (Barapani), one of the most beautiful lakes near Shillong. Depending on time and operating conditions, travellers may enjoy optional water-based activities at the lake.

Continue to Shillong and check in at the hotel. In the evening, explore Police Bazaar, Shillong's bustling shopping and dining district, known for local handicrafts, street food, souvenirs and regional products. The source itinerary specifically includes Umiam Lake and Police Bazaar on Day 1.

Permits & ID

Carry original photo ID at all times — required both for hotel check-in and for the Inner Line Permit check at the Arunachal border in Bomdila.
For the Bumla Pass/border excursion specifically, you must hire a local vehicle — your main tour vehicle is not authorized to go there.

On the Ground

Check-in and check-out at hotels is 12:00 PM.
Our representative will meet you at the airport with a name card.
You'll receive a local contact number on arrival for any issues during the trip.
Don't leave belongings in the vehicle — recovery afterward is unlikely.
If a sightseeing spot is closed on its scheduled day, we won't shift it to another day for free — that requires extra payment.
